The Call of the Spirit is a translation from the Bengali of the conversations of Swami Akhandananda who was a disciple of Sri Ramakrishna.
The transcription covers the period 1935-1937. The notes were taken by a disciple of Swami Akhandananda who was a personal aide. Swami's two previously published books, From Holy Wanderings to Service of God in Man, and In the Lap of the Himalayas are travelogues. This title differs in that it contains conversations with devotees and disciples about spiritual practice.
